Panel member - Simone Webbe

Ms Webbe is the former Deputy Director-General of the Queensland Department of the Premier and Cabinet where her responsibilities included leadership of State Affairs (Constitutional and Administrative Law, International Collaborations, State Projects, Ministerial Services, Government Air Wing and Executive services, including Cabinet Legislation and Liaison), Events Coordination, Protocol Queensland and Business services involving the full range of corporate support including records and information management.

In her decade of distinguished service with the Premier’s department Ms Webbe served two Governors, three Premiers and five Directors-General of the department.  Also, Ms Webbe was Clerk of the Executive Council of Queensland over that period. 

With her various departmental responsibilities including delegated decision-making, Ms Webbe has extensive practical experience with freedom of information law and administration.

Simone’s other appointments have included Director of Queensland Events Corporation, Director of Brisbane Riverfestival Pty Ltd, and Queensland Representative on the national Bravery Decorations Council, Council for the Order of Australia and the National Counter-Terrorism Committee.

Ms Webbe previously worked for the Electoral and Administrative Review Commission and the Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

Ms Webbe is a barrister, with public administration qualifications and is Director of ratio d. pty ltd Strategic Business Consulting Services.
